Kasukabe is a city located in the Saitama Prefecture of Japan. It previously held the status of one of Japan's special cities until those designations were abolished in 2015. As of February 1, 2021, the city had an estimated population of 233,278 residents living in 108,328 households.
The city covers a total area of 66.00 square kilometres (25.48 sq mi) with a population density of approximately 3,500 inhabitants per square kilometre. Kasukabe is notably famous for the production of kiri-tansu, which are traditional dressers crafted from paulownia wood. The cultural and economic importance of this timber is further recognized by its designation as the official town tree.
