Beppu is a city located in the Ōita Prefecture on the island of Kyushu, Japan. As of November 30, 2023, the city had a population of 113,045 residents living in 62,702 households, with a population density of 900 persons per square kilometer. The total area of the city encompasses 125.34 square kilometers (48.39 square miles).
The city is primarily known for its hot springs. In 2024, Beppu celebrated its centenary as a city.
