Kurihara is a city located in the Miyagi Prefecture of Japan. It covers a total area of 804.97 square kilometres (310.80 sq mi) and serves as a regional center within the prefecture.
As of April 30, 2020, the city had an estimated population of 66,565 residents living in 24,994 households. The population density is recorded at 83 persons per square kilometre. Portions of the city's territory are situated within the borders of the Kurikoma Quasi-National Park.
