Yawata is a city situated in the Kyoto Prefecture of Japan. It covers a total area of 24.35 square kilometres (9.40 sq mi) and maintains a population density of approximately 2,800 persons per km2.
As of July 31, 2023, the city has an estimated population of 69,306 residents living in 33,972 households. A notable landmark located within the city is the Iwashimizu Hachiman-gū shrine.
