Ogaki is a city located in the Gifu Prefecture of Japan. As of October 31, 2018, the city had an estimated population of 161,539 residents living in 65,931 households. It covers a total area of 206.57 square kilometres (79.76 sq mi) with a population density of 782 persons per km2.
The city is historically significant as the final destination for the haiku poet Matsuo Bashō during one of his long journeys, which are documented in his book Oku no Hosomichi. In recognition of this literary connection, Ogaki hosts a Bashō Festival every November.
