Nihonmatsu is a city located in the Fukushima Prefecture of Japan. As of April 1, 2020, the city has an estimated population of 54,013 residents living in 20,179 households. It features a population density of approximately 160 persons per square kilometer across a total land area of 344.42 square kilometers.
The city is home to the Adachi neighborhood, which served as the birthplace of artist Chieko Takamura. She was the subject of the book of poems titled Chieko's Sky, which was written by her husband, Kōtarō Takamura.
