Yame is a city located in the Fukuoka Prefecture of Japan. As of December 31, 2023, the city had an estimated population of 37,782 residents living in 16,050 households. It covers a total area of 482.44 km² (186.27 sq mi), resulting in a population density of approximately 240 persons per km².
The city is notably recognized for its production of Yamecha, a type of tea produced in Yame and the surrounding areas. This specific tea is well-known throughout Japan.
