Nishio is a city situated in the Aichi Prefecture within the Chūbu region of Japan. As of October 1, 2019, the city had an estimated population of 169,984 residents living in 65,553 households. It covers a total area of 160.22 square kilometres (61.86 sq mi) with a population density of approximately 1,054 persons per km2.
The city serves as a regional center for commerce and manufacturing. Notably, Nishio is recognized as the leading producer of powdered green tea in Japan.
