Ar-Ramtha, also known as Ar-Romtha, is a city located in the far northwest of Jordan near the Syrian border. Situated on a plain approximately 30 km northeast of both the Jordan River and the city of Irbid, it covers an area of 40 km2.
The city serves as part of the Ar-Ramtha district within the Irbid Governorate. As of 2017, Ar-Ramtha had a population of approximately 164,211, making it the second largest city in the Irbid Governorate and the eleventh largest city in Jordan.
