Montego Bay is the capital city of the parish of St. James in Jamaica. It serves as a significant urban center within the country and holds the distinction of being the second-largest Anglophone city in the Caribbean, following Kingston.

The city ranks as the fourth most populous urban area in Jamaica, positioned after Kingston, Spanish Town, and Portmore. These three other major cities collectively comprise the Greater Kingston Metropolitan Area, which houses more than half a million residents.
