Ocho Rios is a town located in the parish of Saint Ann on the north coast of Jamaica. Locally, it is frequently referred to as Ochi. Originally established as a small fishing village, the area has experienced significant growth over recent decades to become a prominent tourist destination.
The town features several beaches, acclaimed resorts, and duty-free shopping facilities. It serves as a major port of call for cruise ships and hosts cargo vessels at the Reynolds Pier, which is used for exporting limestone, sugar, and formerly bauxite. The vicinity also offers various water sports, including scuba diving.
As of 2011, Ocho Rios had an estimated population of 16,671, representing nearly 10% of the total population of Saint Ann. The town is accessible via two major aviation hubs: Sangster International Airport and Ian Fleming International Airport.
