Santa Maria di Sala

Italy

Santa Maria di Sala is a town located in the Metropolitan City of Venice within the Veneto region of northern Italy. The municipality is situated along the SP32 provincial road.

The most prominent building in the town is Villa Farsetti, which originally belonged to the Farsetti family, members of the Venetian nobility. Following the death of the last heir in 1807, the villa was purchased by Conte Demetrio de Mircovich. Under his ownership, the property underwent a period of renewed prosperity and served as the first seat of the new Municipality alongside the guest house Cavin di Sala.

Today, Villa Farsetti is owned by the Santa Maria di Sala Municipality. The building currently houses several municipal offices, including the local library, and serves as a venue for various cultural events.
