San Pancrazio is a location in Rome, Italy, notably associated with the Basilica of San Pancrazio. This Catholic minor basilica serves as a titular, conventual, and parish church situated on the Janiculum hill.
Founded by Pope Symmachus in the 6th century, the basilica stands in via S. Pancrazio, westward beyond the Porta San Pancrazio gate within the Aurelian Wall. The site is significant for covering the Catacomb of San Pancrazio. An adjacent convent, which may have been established as early as the church itself, has been occupied by the Discalced Carmelite order since 1662.
