Merano

Merano, also known as Meran, is a comune located in the South Tyrol region of northern Italy. Situated within a basin surrounded by mountains reaching heights of up to 3,335 metres above sea level, the city serves as an entrance point to both the Passeier Valley and the Vinschgau.

As the second-largest city in South Tyrol after Bozen/Bolzano, Merano functions as a significant cultural and economic centre for the region.
