Cavalese is a comune located in the Trentino region of northern Italy. With a population of 4,004 inhabitants, it serves as a prominent ski resort and the primary center within the Fiemme Valley. The town is an integral part of the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme and, alongside Predazzo, functions as a central administrative, cultural, and historical hub for the valley.
The municipality is a well-known tourist destination that accommodates seasonal activities throughout the year. During the winter months, it is popular for both alpine and cross-country skiing, while the summer season attracts visitors for various excursions. Notably, the cable car connecting Cavalese to the nearby Cermis mountain has been the site of two significant accidents occurring in 1976 and 1998.
