Taormina is a comune located on the east coast of Sicily, Italy, within the Metropolitan City of Messina. It serves as a prominent coastal municipality known for its geographical position overlooking the Ionian Sea.

The area has been established as a tourist destination since the 19th century. Visitors can access the local beaches, including Isola Bella, via highways connecting from Catania to the south and Messina to the north, or through an aerial tramway constructed in 1992.
