San Filippo del Mela is a comune, or municipality, situated in the Metropolitan City of Messina within the Italian region of Sicily. It is located approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) west of Messina and about 170 kilometres (110 mi) east of Palermo.
The town serves as a local administrative center in the eastern portion of the island. Its geographical position places it within the coastal vicinity of the Metropolitan City of Messina, providing access to the regional infrastructure connecting major Sicilian hubs.
