Enna is a city and comune located in the province of Enna in the central region of Sicily, southern Italy. Known from the Middle Ages until 1926 as Castrogiovanni, the city is situated at a high elevation, towering above the surrounding countryside.
The municipality has a population of 24,884 inhabitants. Due to its geographic position and elevated landscape, it has earned the nicknames "belvedere" and "ombelico" (navel) of Sicily.
