Cefalù, historically known as Cephaloedium, is a city and comune located in the Italian Metropolitan City of Palermo. It is situated on the Tyrrhenian coast of Sicily, approximately 70 km (43 mi) east of the provincial capital and 185 km (115 mi) west of Messina.
With a population of just under 14,000 residents, the town is recognized as one of the major tourist attractions in the region. It attracts millions of visitors annually from across Sicily, Italy, and Europe. Cefalù is also designated as one of the I Borghi più belli d'Italia.
