Balestrate is a comune located in the Metropolitan City of Palermo within the Italian region of Sicily. It is situated approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) southwest of the city of Palermo.
As of July 31, 2015, the municipality covered an area of 3.9 square kilometres (1.5 mi2) and had a population of 6,505 residents.
