Villaputzu is a municipality situated in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari within the Italian region and island of Sardinia. It is located approximately 45 kilometres (28 mi) northeast of the Sardinian capital, Cagliari.
The town is positioned on a short plain at the mouth of the Flumendosa river, adjacent to the Sarrabus hill.
