Palau, officially known as the Republic of Palau, is an island country situated in the Micronesia subregion of Oceania. It is located in the western Pacific Ocean and consists of approximately 340 islands.
The nation occupies the western portion of the Caroline Islands. The eastern and central sections of these islands comprise the Federated States of Micronesia.
