Zapponeta is a town and comune located in the province of Foggia within the Apulia region of southeast Italy. Historically, the area functioned as a frazione of Manfredonia until it was officially established as an independent municipality in 1975.
The settlement was founded in 1768 by Baron Michele Zezza. It serves as a local administrative center within its province, maintaining its distinct identity following its separation from the larger neighboring town.
