Monopoli is a town and municipality located in the Apulia region of Italy, within the Metropolitan City of Bari. It occupies an area of approximately 156 square kilometres (60 sq mi) and is situated on the Adriatic Sea, roughly 40 kilometres southeast of the city of Bari.

The town has a population of 49,246 as of 2014. It serves primarily as an important center for agriculture, industry, and tourism.
