Martano is a town and comune located in the province of Lecce in the Apulia region of Italy. It has a population of 9,573 inhabitants and is situated approximately 20 kilometres from the city of Lecce and 18 kilometres from Otranto.
The town serves as the largest municipality within Grecìa Salentina. This specific area is notable for its linguistic diversity, as some residents speak a Greek dialect known as Griko in addition to Italian and Salentino.
