Casalvecchio di Puglia is a comune and village located in the Province of Foggia within the Apulia region of southern Italy. It is primarily characterized as an Arbëresh community, established largely following a migration of Albanians during the 15th century.
The local population has traditionally subsisted through family farming. A defining cultural characteristic of the village is the continued use of Arbëresh by many residents who have lived in the area for generations, including those born after World War II. Consequently, Arbëresh serves as an official language alongside Italian.
