Sestriere is a ski resort and comune located in the Piedmont region of Italy. It serves as a municipality within the Metropolitan City of Turin and is situated in Val Susa, approximately 17 km (11 mi) from the French border.
The name Sestriere originates from the Latin phrase "ad petram sistrariam," which translates to "at sixty Roman miles from Turin."
