Moncalvo is a village and comune situated in the Province of Asti within the Piedmont region of Italy. It is located approximately 45 kilometres east of Turin and 15 kilometres northeast of Asti along the national road SS 547, which connects Asti to Casale Monferrato and Vercelli.
Historically, the village was part of the state of Montferrat and held significant importance during the early years of the Paleologi period of the marquisate. The area is noted for its association with notable historical figures, including the Baroque painter Guglielmo Caccia and "La Bella Rosin," who was a favorite mistress and eventual wife of King Victor Emmanuel II.
