Formazza is a comune, or municipality, situated in the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola within the Piedmont region of Italy. It is located approximately 160 kilometres (99 mi) northeast of Turin and about 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of Verbania.
The town is positioned on the border with Switzerland. It serves as a local administrative division in the northern Italian alpine region.
