Dronero is a comune, or municipality, located in the Province of Cuneo within the Piedmont region of northern Italy. It is situated approximately 70 kilometres (43 mi) southwest of Turin and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) northwest of Cuneo.
The town is positioned at the entrance of the Valle Maira, a notable geographic feature in the surrounding landscape.
