Chiomonte is a comune (municipality) situated in the Piedmont region of Italy. It is part of the metropolitan city of Turin and is located approximately 60 kilometres west of the city of Turin.
The name of the town originates from the Latin term Calcis Mons, which describes the calcium-rich soil characteristic of the area. Historically, the settlement was positioned on the south side of its current valley before a landslide occurred prior to the 8th century, necessitating its relocation to its present site.
