Casale Monferrato is a town located in the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy, within the province of Alessandria. It is situated approximately 60 km (37 mi) east of Turin.
The town sits on the right bank of the Po river at the foot of the Montferrat hills. Beyond the river lies the expansive plain of the Po valley.
