Carmagnola is a comune located in the Piedmont region of Italy. It is situated within the Metropolitan City of Turin, positioned approximately 29 kilometres (18 mi) south of the city of Turin.
The town is situated on the right side of the Po river. The local geography is characterized by soil conditions that have historically influenced the accumulation of sand along the river's path over time.
