Recanati

Recanati is a comune located in the province of Macerata within the Marche region of Italy. The municipality was established around 1150 AD, originating from three pre-existing castles.

Historically, Recanati proclaimed itself an independent republic in 1290 and gained recognition in the 15th century for hosting a famous international fair. In March 1798, the city was conquered by Napoleon.
