Montefano is a comune, or municipality, situated in the Province of Macerata within the Marche region of central Italy. It is geographically positioned approximately 25 kilometres southwest of Ancona and about 13 kilometres north of Macerata.
The town serves as a local administrative center within its province. Its location provides it with proximity to both the coastal city of Ancona and the provincial capital of Macerata.
