Matelica is a comune, or municipality, located in the Province of Macerata within the Marche region of central Italy. It occupies a land area of approximately 81.04 square kilometres.
The town is situated roughly 35 kilometres west of Macerata and about 60 kilometres southwest of the coastal city of Ancona.
