Fabriano is a town and comune located in the Ancona province of the Marche region in central Italy. Situated at an elevation of 325 metres (1,066 ft) above sea level, it lies within the Esino valley. The town is positioned approximately 44 kilometres (27 mi) upstream and southwest of Jesi, 15 kilometres (9 mi) east-northeast of Fossato di Vico, and 36 kilometres (22 mi) east of Gubbio.
The location serves as a mid-sized regional center in the Apennines due to its position on the main highway and rail line connecting Umbria to the Adriatic coast. Fabriano is notably the headquarters for two major appliance manufacturers, Indesit and Ariston.
