Sumirago is a comune located in the Province of Varese within the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It is situated approximately 40 km northwest of Milan and about 10 km southwest of the city of Varese.
As of December 31, 2004, the municipality covered an area of 11.5 km² and had a recorded population of 6,032 residents.
