Sormano is a comune located in the Province of Como within the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It is situated approximately 45 kilometres north of Milan and about 15 kilometres northeast of the city of Como.
The municipality is part of the mountain community known as the Triangolo lariano, which has Canzo as its chief town. This local government area encompasses the peninsula positioned between the two branches of Lake Como.
