San Donato Milanese is a comune located in the Metropolitan City of Milan within the Lombardy region of Italy. It is situated approximately 10 kilometres southeast of the city of Milan.
The municipality is served by two primary transportation hubs. The San Donato underground station is positioned on the borderline between the town and Milan, while the San Donato Milanese railway station provides access to the Trenord S1 line, which connects Saronno and Lodi.
