Rivarolo Mantovano is a comune located in the Province of Mantua within the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It is situated approximately 30 kilometres (19 mi) southwest of the city of Mantua and about 110 kilometres (68 mi) southeast of Milan.
The municipality was established in the late 16th century by Duke Vespasiano I Gonzaga. Historically known as Rivarolo di Fuori until 1907, the town is characterized by a squared urban plan featuring perpendicular roads.
