Mercallo is a comune located in the Province of Varese within the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It is situated approximately 50 kilometres northwest of Milan and about 15 kilometres southwest of the city of Varese.
The municipality covers an area of 5.3 square kilometres. As of December 31, 2004, Mercallo had a recorded population of 1,761 residents.
