Lecco is a city located in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It has a population of 46,831 inhabitants and is situated approximately 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of Milan.
The city lies at the southern end of the Valsassina valley and sits at the terminus of the south-eastern branch of Lake Como. It is surrounded by the Bergamo Alps, which rise to its north and east.
