Griante is a comune located in the Province of Como within the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It is situated on the western shore of Lake Como, approximately 25 kilometres northeast of the city of Como. The municipality lies between Menaggio and Tremezzo, while also bordering the communes of Bellagio and Varenna across the lake.
The commune is positioned on a wide plateau roughly 50 metres above lake level. A specific portion of the territory situated directly on the water is known as Cadenabbia di Griante, which serves as the primary location for the area's tourist industry.
