Grandate is a comune located in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It is situated within the Province of Como, positioned approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) southwest of the city of Como and about 35 kilometres (22 mi) north of Milan.
The municipality officially became part of the Province of Como in 1808. It serves as a local administrative center within the province's geographical boundaries.
