Gorla Maggiore is a comune, or municipality, located in the Province of Varese within the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It is situated approximately 15 kilometres southeast of Varese and about 30 kilometres northwest of Milan.
As of December 31, 2004, the municipality covers an area of 5.3 square kilometres and has a population of 4,942 residents.
