Gavirate is a comune located in the province of Varese within the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It is situated approximately 60 kilometres northwest of Milan and about 10 kilometres northwest of Varese.
As of December 31, 2004, the municipality covered an area of 13.3 square kilometres and had a population of 9,438 residents.
