The Certosa di Pavia is a monastery complex located in the Lombardy region of Northern Italy. It is situated near a small village of the same name in the Province of Pavia, approximately 8 km (5.0 mi) north of the city of Pavia.
Constructed between 1396 and 1495, it stands as one of the largest monasteries in Italy. The complex was originally positioned at the end of the Visconti Park, which served as a large hunting park and pleasure ground for the Visconti dukes of Milan; however, only scattered remains of that park exist today.
