Carnate is a comune, or municipality, situated in the Province of Monza and Brianza within the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It is located approximately 25 kilometres (16 miles) northeast of the city of Milan.
The town serves as a local administrative center in its respective province. While it maintains a distinct municipal identity, its proximity to Milan places it within the broader metropolitan influence of the Lombardy region.
