Ventimiglia is a resort town located in the province of Imperia within the Liguria region of northern Italy. Situated on the Gulf of Genoa, it lies approximately 130 km (81 mi) west of Genoa and just 7 km (4.3 mi) from the French-Italian border.
The town features a small harbour at the mouth of the Roia river, which serves as a geographical divider between two parts of the city. The urban area of Ventimiglia has a population of 55,000 residents.
